LinkedIn single image ad specs

All three ratios are accepted but they do not reach the same screens: vertical images are not delivered on desktop. Sizes, minimums, maximums and device coverage are all here.

Scope: single image sponsored content.

Vertical images do not deliver to desktop. 1:1.91 is still supported but gets bars on each side, so the source recommends 4:5 to avoid them.

A recommendation is not a requirement: below the minimum a file is refused, while missing the recommended size only affects how sharp the ad looks.

SCOPE

What this page covers

  • This first version covers the single image ad only; video, carousel and message ads are not added until their own official pages are verified.
  • Vertical images do not deliver to desktop, so choosing a ratio is a reach decision, not only a visual one.
  • The text lengths appear under the source's recommendations heading, and the character counter uses the same numbers.
QUESTIONS

About LinkedIn ads

Which ratio should I pick?

The source recommends square when you want both desktop and mobile. Vertical is suggested for a stronger mobile click-through, but it does not appear on desktop.

Why do vertical images get side bars?

1:1.91 vertical images are still supported, but bars are added on each side so they fit the frame. The source recommends 4:5 if you want to avoid them.

Is the description field always required?

No; the source states it is only required when you use the Audience Network.
