Set up Google Search, YouTube and Display campaigns from one place

From search ads to YouTube video, your Google campaigns are created paused in your own Google Ads account. A missing headline, a lone sitelink or a too-long keyword shows up before you publish.

When is Google Ads a good fit, and when isn't it?

Google Search ads show when someone searches Google for a term related to what you sell. You reach people who know what they need and are looking for it right then, which makes Google strong for sales, leads and traffic to your site. A search ad is text: headlines and descriptions, no image needed, and keywords decide who sees it. To create demand, Demand Gen campaigns show image, video and carousel ads on YouTube (including Shorts), Discover and Gmail. Display, Performance Max and app promotion campaigns can be set up from Mecrio too. When Google alone isn't enough: a search ad only appears when someone searches. If your product is new and people aren't searching for it yet, a search campaign alone won't create demand; a YouTube video ad or a feed-based platform like Meta is a better start.

How Google Ads works in Mecrio

Mecrio builds Google Ads' own structure: the campaign (type, budget, locations and languages), the ad group (keywords, age and gender) and the ad. Headlines, descriptions, images and sitelinks are added as assets attached to the ad or campaign. A search campaign is created in one go: if any part can't be created, none of it is, so no half-built campaign is left behind. The campaign is created paused in your own Google Ads account, and nothing spends until you start it. After launch you can change the budget, dates, keywords, headlines and descriptions from Mecrio, and pause or restart the campaign; each change is updated in Google Ads.

How it works

A Google Ads campaign in four steps

01

Set up

Tell Mecrio about your product or service and Mecrio AI drafts the copy and audience for you to edit and approve. Create visuals in Mecrio or use your own.

02

Check and approve

Mecrio checks your ads before they go live and tells you if anything is missing or needs a fix. You preview how they'll look on each platform and approve when you're ready.

03

Publish

Once approved, your campaign is set up in your own ad account on each platform and waits until you start it. You decide where and when it goes live.

04

Manage

Bring in the campaigns already running on your platforms. Update budgets, dates and targeting while they're live, and compare results in one report.

Which campaign objectives can you set up?

The objective you pick is set up as its Google Ads equivalent. The table shows what Mecrio can set up end to end on this platform.

What gets checked for Google Ads before you publish?

A setting the platform won't accept is named before the campaign is created, along with where to fix it.

  • A search ad needs at least 3 different headlines and 2 descriptions; writing the same headline twice doesn't count. If you're short, you're told how many to add before you publish.
  • A single sitelink never shows in the ad; Google needs at least two. A draft with just one is stopped before anything is created, so the link isn't wasted.
  • A keyword can be at most 80 characters and 10 words; Google would reject a longer one, so you're told which keyword it is before you publish.
  • Videos shorter than 10 seconds don't run as ads before or during YouTube videos; if yours is shorter, you're told before you publish, and it still shows in feeds and Shorts.
  • A Performance Max campaign needs a square brand logo, at least 3 different headlines and 2 different descriptions; anything missing is named before the campaign is created.
Questions

Google Ads: frequently asked questions

Can I connect with a manager (MCC) account?

Yes. Campaigns can't be created in a manager account, so Mecrio shows it as not selectable and lists the active ad accounts under it. The campaign is created in the ad account you pick.

Can I run YouTube ads?

Yes, through a Demand Gen campaign: your video shows on YouTube, including Shorts. Google doesn't allow classic video campaigns to be created or changed from outside Google Ads, so Mecrio doesn't set up that type.

What does the "Most conversions" bid strategy need?

Results such as sales or sign-ups have to be measured: the campaign needs a conversion source selected. Mecrio says so right under the option when you pick it.

Can I edit my search ad's headlines after launch?

Yes. You can edit the headline and description lists from Mecrio; the limits of 3 to 15 headlines and 2 to 4 descriptions are checked after launch too.
