Set up TikTok video ad campaigns from one place

Plan, check and publish TikTok video ads from Mecrio. Your countries, video, ad text and the account the ad appears under are checked before anything is created on TikTok.

When is TikTok Ads a good fit, and when isn't it?

TikTok is a full-screen, sound-on video feed where people come to discover what's new. Your ad appears in the For You feed as a vertical video, so the video carries the message and the ad text stays short. TikTok pitches its ads for the whole path from discovery to decision, and that is where it fits best: putting a product in front of people who weren't looking for it yet, then turning that attention into visits, sign-ups, sales or app installs. In Mecrio, TikTok ads are single-video ads. The countries you can reach depend on where your TikTok ad account is registered and on where the ad runs. TikTok is not the right fit if your product doesn't come across on video, if your offer needs a long explanation to make sense, or if the countries you want to reach aren't open to your ad account.

How TikTok Ads works in Mecrio

Once you approve the campaign, Mecrio sets up three things in your own TikTok ad account: the campaign, the ad group (who sees the ad, which countries, where it runs, dates and bid) and the ad (your video, ad text, button, link and the TikTok identity it appears under). All three are created paused, so nothing spends until you start the campaign; starting it from Mecrio switches the ad group and ad on with it. Afterwards you can change the budget, dates, audience, bid, ad text, video and identity from Mecrio, or pause the campaign again.

How it works

A TikTok Ads campaign in four steps

01

Set up

Tell Mecrio about your product or service and Mecrio AI drafts the copy and audience for you to edit and approve. Create visuals in Mecrio or use your own.

02

Check and approve

Mecrio checks your ads before they go live and tells you if anything is missing or needs a fix. You preview how they'll look on each platform and approve when you're ready.

03

Publish

Once approved, your campaign is set up in your own ad account on each platform and waits until you start it. You decide where and when it goes live.

04

Manage

Bring in the campaigns already running on your platforms. Update budgets, dates and targeting while they're live, and compare results in one report.

Ad platform

What gets checked for TikTok Ads before you publish?

A setting the platform won't accept is named before the campaign is created, along with where to fix it.

  • Countries are checked against your ad account: TikTok allows them based on where the account is registered and where the ad runs. A country it won't accept is named before anything is created.
  • A TikTok ad needs a video and an identity to appear under. If either is missing, nothing is created on TikTok, so you're never left with a half-built campaign.
  • Some places your ad can run only work with certain campaign objectives. If you pick one that won't show your ad for the objective you chose, it's flagged before publishing.
  • Your TikTok ad account is checked before publishing. If its setup isn't finished or TikTok has suspended it, you're told why and what to do, and nothing is created.
  • Ad text over 100 characters is caught before publishing, because TikTok rejects it and the ad would not be created.
Questions

TikTok Ads: frequently asked questions

Which account does my TikTok ad appear under?

Under the TikTok identity you choose from your ad account: a TikTok account connected directly or through Business Center. Ads that run outside the TikTok app, in Global App Bundle or Pangle, use a custom name instead; Mecrio uses the one in your ad account or creates it from your campaign name.

Can I run image or carousel ads on TikTok with Mecrio?

No. Mecrio sets up single-video ads on TikTok, because TikTok's feed ads need a video. You can upload your own video or create one in Mecrio's Creative Studio.

Will my ad also show in TikTok search results?

It can. With the website traffic, lead generation and sales objectives, TikTok can show your ad in search results by default, and Mecrio tells you when this applies while you set up the campaign.

Can I change where my TikTok ad runs after it's published?

No. Once an ad group is created, TikTok doesn't allow changing where its ads run, so Mecrio shows the current choice but can't change it. To run the ad somewhere else, set up a new campaign.
