Set up and manage LinkedIn ad campaigns from one place

Choose your audience by job title, industry, seniority or company, and Mecrio AI drafts the copy for you to approve. The ad set and ad are created as drafts in your own LinkedIn ad account, so nothing spends until you start them.

When is LinkedIn Ads a good fit, and when isn't it?

LinkedIn lets you choose an audience by what people do at work, and those options are built largely from what members and company Pages enter on LinkedIn: job title, job function, seniority, skills, industry, company size or specific companies. That makes it a strong fit when your buyer is defined by their role, such as software and services sold to businesses, B2B events, recruiting and offers that need a decision-maker's attention. In the feed you can run single image, video and carousel ads, and if you want, the same ads can also appear on apps and sites outside LinkedIn through the LinkedIn Audience Network. Lead ads open a LinkedIn form instead of your website, and message ads arrive in a member's LinkedIn inbox. LinkedIn is not the right fit for promoting an app, because it has no app install objective. It also adds little when your customers aren't defined by their job, since its work-profile options then have nothing to work with.

How LinkedIn Ads works in Mecrio

Mecrio sets up three things in your own LinkedIn ad account, using LinkedIn's current names: a campaign, an ad set under it, and the ad (LinkedIn used to call the first two a campaign group and a campaign). The audience is picked from the same job, company and location options you'd see in Campaign Manager, and feed ads run under the LinkedIn Page you choose. The ad set and ad are created as drafts, so nothing runs and nothing spends until you start them. Afterwards you can change the budget, start or pause, and edit the ad's text from Mecrio.

How it works

A LinkedIn Ads campaign in four steps

01

Set up

Tell Mecrio about your product or service and Mecrio AI drafts the copy and audience for you to edit and approve. Create visuals in Mecrio or use your own.

02

Check and approve

Mecrio checks your ads before they go live and tells you if anything is missing or needs a fix. You preview how they'll look on each platform and approve when you're ready.

03

Publish

Once approved, your campaign is set up in your own ad account on each platform and waits until you start it. You decide where and when it goes live.

04

Manage

Bring in the campaigns already running on your platforms. Update budgets, dates and targeting while they're live, and compare results in one report.

Which campaign objectives can you set up?

The objective you pick is set up as its LinkedIn Ads equivalent. The table shows what Mecrio can set up end to end on this platform.

What gets checked for LinkedIn Ads before you publish?

A setting the platform won't accept is named before the campaign is created, along with where to fix it.

  • Lead campaigns need a LinkedIn lead form. Without one the ad would become a plain post that links to your site, so Mecrio stops before publishing and asks you to pick a form.
  • LinkedIn Audience Network can't be used with lead campaigns. If you pick it, Mecrio tells you before publishing instead of quietly running the ad in the feed only.
  • If you pay per click or per video view, LinkedIn needs a bid amount. Mecrio doesn't guess a number with your money; it asks you for one before publishing.
  • In a carousel ad the intro text can be at most 255 characters. If yours is longer, Mecrio warns you before publishing so you can shorten it yourself instead of having it cut.
  • LinkedIn video ads must be MP4 files between 3 seconds and 30 minutes long and no larger than 500 MB. A video outside these limits is flagged before publishing.
Questions

LinkedIn Ads: frequently asked questions

Can I change a LinkedIn ad's language after it launches?

No. LinkedIn doesn't let you change an ad set's language once it has launched; a different language needs a new ad set. Mecrio shows this note right where you pick the language.

Which LinkedIn Page does the ad run under?

Feed ads run under a LinkedIn Page you manage, chosen on the Connections page in Mecrio. If no Page is chosen, the ad can't be built, and Mecrio tells you before publishing.

Can I collect leads with a LinkedIn form?

Yes. You pick a form that already exists in your LinkedIn ad account and Mecrio attaches it to the ad. If the account has no form yet, create one in LinkedIn Campaign Manager first; these campaigns run only on LinkedIn, not on the Audience Network.

Can I run a website conversion campaign on LinkedIn?

Yes. Mecrio sets up the ad set with the real conversion goal, but LinkedIn won't let it start until conversion tracking is linked to your ad account. Link the conversion in LinkedIn Campaign Manager before you start it.
