Reddit Ads specs: image, video and carousel
Reddit accepts any aspect ratio but does not show them all the same way: a file outside the recommended ratios may appear with empty bars. File, length and text limits for image, video and carousel ads are here, each from Reddit's help pages.

Reading this table
- The scope is image, video and carousel ads. Other types, such as free-form and interactive ads, Max campaigns and Takeovers bought through Reddit's sales team, follow their own rules and are not mixed in here.
- The ad type comparison table on Reddit for Business lists different image values: JPEG or PNG, up to 20 MB, 1:1 or 16:9 and at least 1200 × 628 px. This table follows the help page: JPG, PNG or GIF, up to 3 MB and any ratio. To meet both pages on file type and size, use JPG or PNG and stay within 3 MB.
- The recommended video length differs across three pages: the help page says 5–30 seconds, the comparison table up to 60 seconds and the video ads page under 10 seconds. For video ratios, the comparison table lists 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9 and the video ads page suggests 4:5 for mobile; this table uses the help page's 4:3 and 16:9.

About Reddit ads
Which ratio should I use on Reddit?
To use one file on every device, Reddit recommends 4:3 (1440 × 1080 px) for images and 4:3 or 16:9 for video. Any ratio is accepted, but ratios outside the recommended ones may show with empty bars.
Should I use all 300 headline characters?
300 characters is the maximum, but headlines can be cut off depending on browser, device and font size. Reddit recommends 100 characters, or 80 if you are worried about truncation.
Can I put a video in a carousel?
Reddit defines the carousel ad with images: 2–6 cards, each JPG, PNG or GIF. To show a video, use the video ad.
