Check your ad copy against the character limits
Pick a platform and paste your text. Each field is counted separately, hard limits are marked apart from recommendations, and double-width languages are counted the way the platform counts them.
Google Ads Help: in double-width languages such as Korean, Japanese and Chinese, every character counts as two.
You can enter at least 3 and at most 15.
You can enter at least 2 and at most 4.
The source gives the limit per field but not how many fields there are.
The copy fits. What about the ad itself?
Describe your product once and Mecrio writes the headlines, descriptions and visuals together, inside each platform's own limits.

What the counter tells you and what it does not
It counts the text fields of a single ad against the published limit. It does not judge whether the copy is any good.
What this tool does
- Counts each field separately and shows what is left as you type.
- Labels hard limits and recommended lengths differently.
- Applies the source's counting rule: in Google search ads, Korean, Japanese and Chinese characters count as two.
What it does not do
- It does not write, shorten or rewrite your copy.
- Fitting the limit does not guarantee the full text shows every time; platforms can still truncate.
- It does not validate the whole ad: image, link and policy are out of scope.
About character limits
How many characters is an emoji?
The counter treats an emoji as one character. The pages we cite publish no separate emoji rule; if one appears, the counter will follow it.
What happens if I go past a recommended length?
The ad is not refused, but some placements may show your text shortened. Going past a hard limit means the text is not accepted at all.
Why are there several headline boxes?
A search ad takes several headlines and descriptions that the platform combines itself. The counter shows the minimum and maximum the source publishes.
Where the numbers on this page come from
All of them from the platform's own documentation. Follow the link and read the same line yourself.
